Though she might look adorable in those pair of red glasses, there's something a bit messy about Usagi's Mugen Academy costume. Perhaps it's the neutral tones awkwardly mixed with Usagi's hyper pink accessories, but this doesn't come across like much of a disguise but more like a cluster filled cosplay. Though the original anime's version of this outfit is equally as iconic, this hyper-shoujo pastel rendition of Usagi's disguise is perfection from head to toe. The shades of pink, coupled with the pearl and rose details, all combine to perfectly fit this crime fighter's ultra-feminine personality and optimistic outlook.
It even has a bright red faux gemstone in the middle. Though it looks great in both incarnations, there's something so utterly elegant and powerful about Super Sailor Moon's costume. Maybe its the excellent use of the colors, mixed with the butterfly/fairy inspired aesthetic of the entire ensemble, but the whole thing comes across like real Sailor Senshi goals.
The real show-stopping elements of this costume are the sleeves and the back bow. They work as both a representation of Sailor Moon's evolution in her magical girl journey, while also being a unique take on armor with a regal shojo touch. But even the most stylish of crime fighters can have their less-than-great moments down the catwalk of life.
